GLIDER INFANTRY UNIFORM OF THE U.S. ARMY DURING WWII

THIS IS THE UNIFORM AND GEAR OF THE 327TH GLIDER INFANTRY REGIMENT OF THE 101ST AIRBORNE DIVISION. THE UNIT LANDED BY BOAT AND GLIDER ON D-DAY. THE 327TH FOUGHT IN NORMANDY, FRANCE, HOLLAND, & GERMANY; PARTICIPATING IN OPERATION OVERLORD (D-DAY), OPERATION MARKET GARDEN, AND THE BATTLE OF THE BULGE AT BASTOGNE. THE UNIT IS STILL ACTIVE AS AN INFANTRY UNIT UNDER THE 101ST AIRBORNE ASSAULT DIV. STATIONED AT FT. CAMPBELL, KY. THE 327TH GIR IS THE UNIT I PREFER TO REENACT AND AM ACTIVELY SEEKING RECRUITS IN OHIO. I HAVE BEEN CONTACTED BY THE UNIT'S ACTIVE OPERATION OFFICER, CAPT. PAGE. AND HE IS PLANNING A 327TH REENACTOR UNIT STATIONED FROM THE BASE AT FT. CAMPBELL. EVERY YEAR THE VETERANS OF THE 101ST RETURN FOR THEIR ANNUAL REUNION. CAPT. Uniform of the Glider Infantry. The pants and shirt can be either wool or herring bone twill (HBT). The shoes can be service shoes as pictured with leggings or double-buckle boots.
